Needed something to slip on when I feel a little chillI purchased this for my husband's 101 year old grandmother who is currently is hospice care. The hospice prefers to keep her in a hospital gown or nightgown when she is in bed (I am guessing for hygiene reasons, it is easier to help her in the bathroom, etc.) But, she is always cold. My own grandmother always liked bed jackets when she was not feeling well, and I am glad I was able to find such a nice one on Amazon. This bed jacket is super soft and well made. The buttons are adorable, and they hide a velcro placket. The velcro closes securely. I ordered pink, and it is a soft, baby pink color as shown in the pictures. Like other reviewers mentioned, even though the fabric is super soft, it did have some shedding and lint. Because I didn't know what size Grandma needed, I ordered a large and extra large. I placed both jackets in the dryer individually, and I air fluffed them (only air, no heat) for 20 minutes each with a dryer sheet. This took care of the lint and fuzz without requiring me to wash the item when I knew I was going to return whichever jacket did not fit. As for sizing, I recommend ordering a size up. If you want the jacket to fit extremely close to the body or you are not going to wear anything underneath but the thinnest top or nightgown, go with your regular size. If you see how the jacket fits the model in the photos, that is how your regular size will fit - close to the body. I wear a medium or large in t-shirts, and the large was snug on me over a long sleeved tee. Grandma ended up with the XL even though she is not that big of a woman. I thought the looser fit looked more comfortable, and the nurses preferred a larger fit to make removing the jacket easier. Grandma loves the jacket, and she is now "very warm," even though she still sets her room thermostat to 80 degrees. I figure at 101, she is entitled to do what she wants. ;o)This is a great bed jacket - soft, warm, easy for an older person to "button" because of the velcro closings. One of the buttons came off in the first wash. Only suggestion: sew the buttons on a little tighter.Softest, prettiest pale pink, velcro closure is convenient/easy. I ordered Medium, but could probably have ordered small as i am short the sleeves are a bit long on me & the body on me is loose fitting, without being sloppy, and i like it. This is warm in bed, on the couch & perfect with pj's or lounge pants around the house. Washes well too. Glad I ordered.Fit: I ordered the small and the medium since reviews noted it ran small. The small worked for me (I'm usually a size 6). Quality issues: I washed before wearing because it "fuzzed" all over the place. Two buttons fell off in the first washing (they are decorative since it has a velcro closing). It came out a little wrinkled even though I removed it from the dryer and hung it up before it was completely dry. BUT it is SUPER soft and I liked the color (light aqua blue), so I kept the small and returned the medium. Note: other reviewers have said the velcro comes off; any velcro will pull off eventually if you don't handle it gently (use both hands to pull apart at one corner).I bought this as a gift for a friend confined for rehabilitation. She put it on as soon as she opened the package. She loved the softness, Velcro closure, two pockets, and 3/4 sleeves. She was happy to have a light jacket covering her shoulders.Come cooler weather I think I'll be using it for more than just travel. It's going to be easy to just slip it on when getting out of bed for anything g--even a drink of water!I read the reviews and several said the buttons came off. Well I washed it before wearing and 2 buttons came off. I haven't even wore the thing. Other than that it appears to be okay a little expensive for the quality.Perfect fit and exactly as described. Very soft and cozy. My 97 year old mother is very happy that I finally found her a bedjacket. The velcro buttons are perfect for anyone that struggles with the use of their hands and fingers. A great purchase.This bed jacket is very soft and warm. I certainly would consider another one in a different colour.My wife ordered this for her mother and she loved it! She plan to order another one.
