I've waited to leave this review to make sure it worked well.This was used on the exterior surface of my Jeep to hold the tonneau cover on. I will say I only used the hook side because the loop is sewn into the cover.The adhesive has lasted, and continues to last, after being on for a full year of hundred degree summer days and sub 0 winter weather. I'm guessing if I tried to just pull it off I would probably remove paint.The adhesive is really strong and worked great foe holding to the wall. The velcro is great for using repeatedly. There is quite a lot of length enough for multiple uses and places.This is a great product, and does exactly what you'd expect it to. We've used it to hold motion activated puck lights in closets, to hang light bars in cabinets, etc!Wow, the adhesive properties of the pads is impressive. I attached to some fabric and I was surprised at its ability to adhere. I was initially skeptical but turned out being one of my better purchases. Velcro is so versatile!I needed to install a smoke detector on my ceiling and didn't want to drill holes. This did job very easily and is securely holding the detector.Genuine Velcro brand is the best - has the best adhesive to hold it in place.Adhesive appears very strong. Not recommended if changing your mind about the location. Appears to stick and stay stuck.I purchased the 4 foot tape of industrial strength Velcro to hold a heavy wood and epoxy tray on my wall. I cut and applied two strips to the back of the tray thinking I would need the extra grip to counter the tug of removing velcroed objects like remote controls from the surface of the tray but then changed my mind about my design. The tray is too visually interesting to cover up with remote controls as previously planned. So now it hangs on the wall like functional art waiting to be used as an actual tray.BUT, the grip is so tight that I was afraid to pull the tray down to use it. Would it pull the Velcro from my wall? From the tray? Would it remove the paint or drywall with it? WHO KNOWS? I can’t pull it off the wall to use it! I’ve been pulling hard - straight on, at an angle, in a peeling motion, etc. - and it hasn’t budged. I can hear some of the Velcro trying to separate but the tearing sound it makes naturally also sounds like drywall tearing. I stopped and tried to look behind the tray and cannot see any damage to the wall but I fear it is just a matter of time. :/So much for functional art. :( The tray may live in this spot until I use a heat gun or sticker removal product to preserve as much of the wall as possible because I still can’t separate the Velcro enough to use it. Clearly, this was an application error on my part - either in amount of Velcro used or in the strength of Velcro used.So, in short: the HEAVY DUTY VELCRO IS TRUE TO ITS NAME. It works best in smaller sections for items that you want to remove, use, and return to the strip. Larger or parallel sections seem quite effective for hanging more permanent structures like a rack or base that you want to have stay where placed.Tips:1. Use the smallest amount necessary to avoid having your project/item stuck there forever.2. Consider potential removal processes before application. For example, if you have to patch a surface after removal, would the effort and cost be worth it?We promptly received the product. The adhesive is very strong even when attached to fabric. It is significantly better than value (no-name) velcro from discount stores. It is important to let the adhesive set at least a couple of minutes prior to linking the other velcro tab. After it has set, it proves surprisingly very strong. We used it to secure medical instruments in a first responder kit. The latter keeps de kit well organized.I used it to attach my white board to my refrigerator door. If I need to, I can pull it off and put it back.
