I’m a big guy - 6’ 2”, and 250 pounds. I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, and the associated pain and swelling in joints and extremities. I’ve had both knees replaced.I say all this to somewhat underscore the challenges that shoes represent for me. The lace up Adidas I wore every day for years are a thing of the past; painful, swollen joints made them too difficult to get on and lace up. Intermittent foot swelling meant I couldn’t even get them on at times. For a long while, I couldn’t wear any footwear other than flip-flop style sandals. Not a great choice for an office professional, but fortunately, my bosses were understanding and cool with it.Not long ago I had an upcoming event where I really needed to wear real shoes. I did a search for ‘hush puppies’, and this shoe came up in the listing of similars. Though they weren’t the brand I was searching for, they checked all my boxes for size, colors, and price, so decided to give them a try.I was genuinely surprised at how light they were when I unboxed them, and how easily I could get them on. Most of all, though, they fit really nicely, were really cool and comfortable, and seemed to have a lot or arch support. I was able to wear them for the entire day-long event without the discomfort (and eventual pain) I would otherwise experience with my normal footwear.Since then, these shoes have replaced the flip-flops for everyday footwear. Still deal with the joint pain and swelling from RA, but these shoes don’t add to to the ordeal like my others do.I truly appreciate being able to wear shoes again, and I highly recommend them.My husband is elderly and in poor health. Getting comfortable and supportive shoes on every day has been a challenge because his feet are swollen most of the time. These have been such a blessing- so easy to get on, very lightweight. Would recommend.Order a larger size. These were much more narrow than expectedThese were a Christmas gift to my 83yo father. I had witnessed him struggling to get his shoes on many times. He's diabetic. Since Christmas he's worn these every day & tells me every time he sees me how great they are. I will likely buy him the light grey pair as well. I wish they had a brown option. Highly recommend!Did not keep shoe because the velcro closure is a wrap over only. Very hard to pull tight. Not like other strap with loop shoes.I bought these shoes for my elderly dad. He doesn’t have diabetes but says they’re super comfortable and easy for him to put on. He wears them exclusively.My feet are sometimes swollen. These shoes are very adjustable using velcro. The fabric is soft and comfortable. The soles are thick enough that I can wear them on our gravel driveway and not feel the gravel. I wear them for shopping and doctor visits. I bought the black ones and will be ordering more.These are very good quality shoes and actually look good on.
